Stronger, Fitter You: Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 3 September 2026
Nobody loves reading terms and conditions, me included. But you're about to hand over money and turn up somewhere every week (or once a month), so you deserve to know exactly how this works. I've kept it as plain as I can but if anything's unclear, please just ask.
1. Who you're dealing with
Stronger, Fitter You (STFU) is run by Rosemary MacLennan-Crump, trading as Rosie Strong.
Address: The Refectory, 170 Norman Street, Ilkeston, DE7 8NR
Email: rosie@rosiestrong.co.uk
Website: rosiestrong.co.uk
In-person sessions take place at The Refectory, 170 Norman Street, Ilkeston, DE7 8NR
2. What these terms cover
These terms apply to all Stronger, Fitter You programmes, including:
- STFU in-person small group programmes (fixed-length blocks, such as the 8-week Beginners programme, and rolling monthly groups)
- STFU Saturday Hybrid (monthly in-person session plus app support)
By booking, paying, or attending a session, you're agreeing to these terms. You need to be 18 or over to join.
3. Booking and paying
Fixed-length programmes (such as the 8-week Beginners): you can pay in full up front, or in two instalments. The first instalment is due at booking and secures your place. The second is due at the end if the month.
Rolling monthly programmes (including Saturday Hybrid): your fee is collected monthly by Direct Debit through GoCardless. Payment for the month ahead is taken between the 21st and 28th of the month before it starts. So your October fee comes out between 21 and 28 September, and so on.
If a payment fails, I'll let you know and give you five working days to sort it. If it stays unpaid, I may pause your place and app access until it's resolved.
Prices are as advertised at the time you book. Founder pricing for September 2026 cohorts is locked in until 25 December 2026. After that, or for anyone joining later, I'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change, and you're free to cancel before it kicks in.
4. Your 14-day cooling-off period
You have the legal right to change your mind within 14 days of the day you book (that's the day you receive your booking confirmation from me), for any reason, and get a refund.
Here's the catch, and I totally understand. Most people want to start straight away rather than sit out two weeks, and by booking you're asking me to begin providing the programme during your cooling-off period. If you then cancel within the 14 days, you'll still get a refund, but I'll deduct a proportionate amount for what you've already had:
- £25 for each in-person session you've attended
- £50 for each 1:1 coaching call you've had
- £25 for programme set-up, if I've already built your programme and set you up on the app
Everything else is refunded within 14 days of you telling me you're cancelling.
To cancel in the cooling-off period, email me at rosie@rosiestrong.co.uk with your name and the programme you booked. You don't have to give a reason but it really helps me to improve the service I offer if you can give me feedback.
5. Cancelling after the cooling-off period
Rolling monthly programmes: you can leave at any time. Because your next month's payment is collected between the 21st and 28th, I need to hear from you by the 21st of the month to cancel that payment. If you tell me after the 21st, the next month's payment will already be on its way and you'll be a member for that month, then finish at the end of it. Payments already taken aren't refunded.
Fixed-length programmes: once your cooling-off period has ended, your fee (including any outstanding instalment) is due in full and isn't refundable if you decide to stop early. I know life happens, so if something serious comes up (illness, injury, a genuine crisis), talk to me. I'll always try to find a fair way through, whether that's pausing your place or moving you to a later group, but I can't promise a refund.
Please cancel in writing (email or WhatsApp is fine) so we've both got a record.
6. Missed sessions
Small groups only work if the small group turns up, so places are reserved for you each week whether you come or not. Missed sessions aren't refunded or automatically carried over. Where there's space in another group that week, I'll do my best to offer you a catch-up slot, but I can't guarantee it.
7. If I have to cancel
If I cancel a session (illness, weather, the building falling down), I'll give you as much notice as I can and if you’re on a fixed programme, I’ll offer you an extra session. If you are on a rolling programme the price is calculated on there being no sessions on 6 weeks of the year (2 weeks over Christmas). If I have to cancel a whole programme before it starts, you'll get a full refund.
8. Your health and safety
Strength training is safe and beneficial for the vast majority of people, but I need honest information from you to keep it that way.
- Before you start, you'll complete a health questionnaire (PAR-Q). Please fill it in fully and truthfully and tell me if anything changes.
- If you have a medical condition, are pregnant, are recovering from surgery or injury, or have been told by a doctor to avoid exercise, please get their go-ahead before starting.
- Tell me about any pain, discomfort or injury during a session straight away. Nobody gets a medal for pushing through.
- Follow my coaching on technique and load. Barbells and weights are safe when used properly and less so when they aren't.
- Wear appropriate clothing and footwear (flat, stable shoes, please).
I'll take reasonable care to keep you safe, and I'm insured and qualified to do this work. I don't exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by my negligence, or for anything else the law says I can't exclude. Beyond that, I'm not responsible for injury or loss caused by you not following instructions, not disclosing relevant health information, or doing exercises outside of sessions without proper care.
9. The app and your programme
Your programme is delivered through the Trainerize coaching app. Your login is for you only. Programmes, videos and written content are my work and are for your personal use, so please don't share, copy or pass them on.
App access runs for the length of your programme or membership. Video feedback and messaging are part of the Saturday Hybrid programme; I aim to reply within two working days, and I'm not available late at night or on Saturdays and Sundays.
10. Photos and social media
I sometimes take photos and videos at The Refectory for social media and the website. I'll always ask before I use anything with you in it, and you can say no, no explanation needed. If you'd rather not appear in anything at all, tell me at the start and I'll make sure of it.
11. Looking after each other
The Refectory is a small space and a friendly one. I ask everyone to be kind, respectful and supportive of the other people in the room. If someone's behaviour makes the space unsafe or unpleasant for others, I reserve the right to end their place without a refund. It's never happened.
I won't tolerate homophobia, transphobia, racism, classism or any other kind of discrimination or bullying in my sessions, in the app, or in any group chat connected to STFU. I'll speak to you directly about it once. If it happens again, or if it's serious enough that once is too many, your place ends.
This is also a body neutral business. That means we don't do "good" and "bad" foods, we don't comment on each other's bodies (even kindly), and we don't measure success by what's on the scales. I know old habits run deep and conversations sometimes swerve into diet chat without anyone meaning them to. That's fine, nobody's getting told off, I'll just gently steer us back, and I'd ask you to do the same.
If someone's behaviour makes the space unsafe or unpleasant for others, I reserve the right to end their place.
12. Your data
I collect the information I need to coach you safely and run the business (contact details, health questionnaire, payment information, training data in the app). How I handle it is set out in my Privacy Policy at https://www.rosiestrong.co.uk/privacy-policy1. I won't share your health information with anyone unless you ask me to or the law requires it.
13. If something goes wrong
If you're unhappy with anything, please tell me. My complaints procedure is at https://www.rosiestrong.co.uk/complaints, but honestly, the first step is just to message me and we'll sort it.
14. The legal bit
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If any part of these terms turns out not to be enforceable, the rest still applies. I may update these terms from time to time; if I do, I'll let existing members know and the changes won't affect a programme you've already paid for.
